According to the EIA report, the project from Maitreya to Yuxi starts in the southeast of the new post in Maitreya and forms a “T” crossover with the Guang-Quan Expressway (Shilin to Suolong Temple Section). The Yuxi-Chuxiong section of the project starts in Hongta District of Yuxi City, Yunnan Province, and connects Kunming to Mogao Expressway G8511. The end point ends at Daba Village, Chuxiong City, Chuxiong Prefecture. The entire line runs from southeast to northwest, with a total length of 188.718km.
According to the project feasibility study report, the Maitreya-Chuxiong Expressway will officially start construction in 2017 and is expected to be completed by 2020.
